Is it a foot problem or a neck problem?

Sep 24

Are your feet causing your neck pain?

1 in 3 people experience neck pain at least once a year, if not more. This common condition can be caused by many things, whether it be a spinal misalignment, reverse cervical curve, or whiplash. Neck pain can also be referral pain, meaning it's originating in other parts of the body, such as the feet.

Your standing and walking stance can lead to back and neck pain. Plantar fasciitis and other sources of foot inflammation may impact your gait and put more pressure on the spine, from the lower back up to the neck.

Many spinal problems and other health conditions include foot and neck pain as symptoms. Spinal stenosis is one common example, as this condition occurs when the spinal canal narrows, putting pressure on the spinal cord and leading to nerve pain, weakness, and numbness in the feet, legs, arms, and hands.

If you are experiencing tingling in your feet or neck pain, it's best to see a chiropractor to address the issue and get to the source of the problem.
